Our client is expanding their national business development function and looking for experienced relationship-builders who can develop strong referral partnerships across the insolvency, accountancy and distressed-business landscape.

About the role

You'll be the person who builds trust with accountants, commercial finance brokers, restructuring advisors and other professionals who spot early signs of business distress — turning those relationships into high-quality inbound leads.

What you'll be doing

  • Build and nurture referral partnerships with accountants, advisors, brokers and professional networks.

  • Identify businesses showing early signs of distress and convert referrals into real opportunities.

  • Own your territory, pipeline and relationship strategy end to end.

  • Attend networking events, accountancy meet-ups and regional business forums.

  • Work with insolvency practitioners to ensure a smooth handover of leads.

  • Feed regional market insight into national strategy.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager — insolvency, accountancy, finance or professional services.
  • Strong relationship-building skills; you win trust and stay top-of-mind.
  • A proactive, self-managed approach to territory development.
  • Confidence speaking with accountants, advisors and business owners.
  • Ability to spot commercial opportunities and convert them into results.
  • A natural networker with excellent communication skills.

What experience do I need?

We're looking for proven BDM experience, ideally in insolvency, accountancy, finance or professional services. If you can build referral partnerships and manage a territory, we'd love to talk.

Do I need to live in one of the corridors?

No. The hotspots listed are where we see strongest demand, but strong BDMs can create value anywhere in the UK. If you're outside these areas, please still apply.

Is the role remote or office-based?

This is a field-facing BDM role. You'll spend much of your time meeting referral partners and networking in your territory, with flexibility around home working.

How does the bonus work?

The salary is £37,500 – £42,500 with a performance-based bonus on top. The exact structure is discussed during the interview process.

What is the interview process?

Typically a brief phone call with the client, followed by a face to face at the offices in Leeds, West Yorkshire. We keep the process moving quickly.
